Fresh Foods Advisor (Wexford based)

Hanrahan’s Retail Group are delighted to announce that they are currently recruiting for a Fresh Foods Advisor / Manager. This hands-on role is crucial to implementing and advising our store management on all categories within their fresh department and driving store performance within the group.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include the following:

  • To actively train and develop stores to deliver on fresh food standards

  • To build strong relationships with management and their teams, and work to achieve a successful retailing environment that exceeds expectations

  • To assist management by providing profitability and stocktaking procedures and address non-performing areas effectively, ensuring that issues are resolved in accordance with company guidelines

  • To work and advise in accordance with the legislation and codes of practice that govern the handling of food stuffs within Ireland

  • To advise management on the role of food safety management and the tools required to achieve strong food safety standards and committing to implement HACCP within the store

  • To deliver training in respect of the BWG certified food safety management system to management and their staff

  • To assist in the creation and delivery of relevant training material to management and staff

  • To work with stores to quickly resolve and rectify any concerns raised by Environmental Health Officers

  • To work in conjunction with Food Innovation and Food Safety teams as directed

  • To advise management and staff on improvements that can be made to achieve the food safety audits specific to the store brand

  • Any other duties designated by your manager

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Previous retail experience is essential (red meat experience an advantage, but not essential)

  • Be proactive and flexible, with hands on approach

  • Attention to detail

  • Knowledge of food safety at retail level

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to both motivate and influence

  • The ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team

  • Strong computer skills (Office 365)

  • Good organisational abilities

  • Full driver’s licence

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes

  • Previous experience in fresh food/deli department required

  • Previous experience in training others on presentations, portion control etc

  • Knowledge in food safety, hygiene and HACCP required

  • Customer driven with great communication and interpersonal skills

  • Hard-working and flexible, with the ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative

  • Professional & polite manner is essential

  • Committed to continually improving department standards with an attention to detail

  • Committed to delivering great customer experiences in a busy environment

  • Enjoys working in a fast paced team environment and with a willingness to embrace new challenges
