Post Office Counter Clerk - Part-Time

Londis Miltown, Co. Kerry is seeking a friendly and reliable Part-Time Post Office Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, deliver a range of Post Office services, and handle cash transactions accurately and professionally in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly, professional, and efficient service to all customers

  • Carry out general cashier and counter duties accurately and in line with company procedures

  • Assist customers with a wide range of An Post products and services

  • Process financial and postal transactions while maintaining high levels of accuracy

  • Handle cash, balance tills, and ensure all transactions are completed correctly

  • Support the Office Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Post Office

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all An Post services and promotions

  • Ensure confidentiality and security procedures are followed at all times

  • Respond to customer queries and resolve issues in a courteous and professional manner

  • Work effectively as part of the team while also using initiative when required

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming work environment

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Working Hours

  • Part-time position

  • Average of 3 days per week over 6 days (Monday to Saturday)

  • Flexibility required to work a variety of shifts, including Saturday mornings on a rotational basis

Training

  • Full training will be provided

Pay

  • Pay Range : €14.15 - €15.00 per hour

Job requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is desirable

  • Cash-handling experience is desirable

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good organisational and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality

  • Flexibility to work shifts between Monday and Saturday, including rotational Saturday mornings
